“We are excited to introduce the Highcon die-cutting system to our facility. This will enable us to expand our range of products and further elevate the current and future prospects of the leading brands we partner with,“ says Dan Morris, Managing Director of Durham Box.
Highcon announced at drupa 2024 that Durham Box, a member of the Logson Group—a UK-based consortium of packaging companies—has signed an agreement to purchase the first Highcon Beam 2C digital die-cutting system in the UK market. With this system, Durham Box aims to broaden its market reach, especially in the e-commerce sector.
This innovative system will be installed at Durham Box’s 120,000 square feet plant in Bishop Auckland in North-East England, alongside the EFI Nozomi single-pass corrugated printer.
Additionally, Durham Box has also signed an option agreement to upgrade the Highcon Beam 2C to the Highcon Beam 2C Nonstop as well as, to join the Highcon Vulcan Option Program. The revolutionary Vulcan (R&D code name) is still under development and boasts an impressive 1.4 x 1.7-meter (55” x 66”) sheet size, which will bring about numerous benefits for mainstream corrugated production.
“We are pleased to be joining forces with Highcon, a top-notch provider of digital die cutting systems. This is an exciting development for us, and we are looking forward to the many possibilities that this partnership will bring,” says David Richardson, CEO of Logson Group.
“Highcon has achieved yet another milestone in its digital transformation journey with the help of its partnership with Durham Box and the Logson Group, through our continuous demonstration of attracting leading market players to adopt our digital die cutting solutions,” says Shlomo Nimrodi, CEO of Highcon.
