Interview with Luis Ganuza, Commercial Director of the company, at CCE International 2025.
What are the main trends you see in the corrugated board industry today, and how is your company responding to these challenges?
The main trend we observe is the growing need for versatility. Companies face the challenge of handling both long production runs and short runs. To address this, they must combine flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving demands of the market. At Macarbox, we are focused on providing solutions that enable this versatility.
Macarbox is a European machinery manufacturer specializing in converting machinery for corrugated board. Based in Arrona, Pais Vasco, Spain, the company is known for its high-quality, technologically advanced equipment designed and manufactured.
What new technologies or products are you presenting at this expo, and how can they improve production processes for our viewers?
At Macarbox, we are showcasing four distinct product lines. First, our converting lines include flexible dies and rotary cutters.

Second, we offer corrugated board production equipment. Third, we are introducing our laser cutting and creasing technology.
Lastly, we are featuring a single-pass digital printing machine that uses water-based inks.

Our product lines represent a combination of well-established technologies—such as converting and corrugated systems—and cutting-edge innovations like digital printing and laser systems.
Together, these solutions empower our customers with the flexibility and efficiency needed to optimize their production processes.
What do you consider to be the biggest challenge for corrugated board manufacturers in the next five years, and how is your company helping them address these challenges?
One of the biggest challenges for manufacturers will continue to be flexibility. Another significant challenge is the difficulty in finding and retaining skilled and trained personnel.
To address this, our machines are designed to be highly user-friendly and require only a minimal number of operators. Additionally, they can be operated with a short training period, ensuring easy adoption and efficiency for our customers.
How does your company support sustainability and eco-friendliness in the corrugated board industry?
Sustainability is at the core of our approach. Our digital printing machines, which use water-based inks, help reduce the environmental footprint of our customers’ operations. They are easy to use, efficient, and eco-friendly.
Moreover, our laser technology allows for the production of boxes in various sizes, ensuring a perfect fit for the contents inside. This reduces the amount of paper used, further promoting sustainable practices.

What message would you like to share with corrugated board manufacturers worldwide who are watching this report?
At Macarbox, we are committed to supporting our customers with a full range of innovative product lines designed to meet their needs.
We strive to be flexible, collaborative, and focused on helping manufacturers achieve comprehensive corrugated production capabilities. We are ready to work with you to deliver outstanding results.
