“We are delighted to have reached this agreement with Saica, benefiting both our employees and customers. The cultural alignment between our two family-owned companies will facilitate a smooth and swift integration,“ says Björn Schumacher, CEO of Schumacher Packaging Group.
“In Poland, our products and services complement each other perfectly. By expanding into Europe’s sixth largest economy, Saica enhances its already extensive geographic presence. This is a significant milestone for Schumacher Packaging, ensuring the long-term success and sustainability of our medium-sized enterprise.“
“The separation of our Polish subsidiary will not disrupt the rest of the Schumacher Packaging Group, as the Polish operations function almost independently with their own management,“ concluded Björn Schumacher.
“This marks a significant milestone for us. It not only advances Saica’s business growth strategy but also aims to enhance our infrastructure and services in Eastern Europe,“ says Susana Alejandro, President of Saica Group.
“We are excited to welcome the Schumacher team in Poland and to further integrate our culture and values with theirs. Together, we will focus on future growth, valuing our people, and embracing the challenges ahead,“ concluded Susana Alejandro.
This acquisition includes two corrugated board plants in Bydgoszcz and Wrocław, two paper mills in Grudziądz and Myszków, and three service centers. The transaction is pending approval from Polish anti-trust authorities and the fulfillment of certain conditions.
Schumacher Packaging, a leading family-owned producer of customized corrugated and solid board packaging, employs 1,540 people in Poland and reported a turnover of €327 million in 2023. The acquisition aligns with Saica’s strategic plan, Saica 2025, and aims to expand its presence in Eastern Europe.
