Interview with Filippo Lazzaroni, Area Sales Manager at SuperCorrExpo 2024.
Feltri Marone S.p.A. was founded in 1933 and specializes in the production of technical textiles for the paper and corrugated industries.
What’s new with the Spirabelt from Feltri Marone?
The product is not new, but it’s still one of the biggest innovations in the corrugator market in recent years. Generally speaking, corrugator belts have remained the same since cardboard was invented. Here, you can see a totally different idea. It’s not like the standard belt, which is around nine millimeters.
This is totally different. First of all, it’s open. An open belt can be a significant advantage, especially for high permeability. This allows you to reduce the temperature, which is really good for cost savings and the quality of the cardboard.
We have already sold more than 1500 of these belts, and they work really well. For example, we have more than 60% of the market in Italy using this type of belt. We already have many clients in the United States and South America. So, come to our booth or visit our website. We wanted to talk to you about our new innovation.
Spirabelt represents the latest development in corrugated belt technology. These belts are completely seamless, eliminating the need for traditional metal hooks and fasteners. Spirabelt has exceptional surface permeability, providing over a hundred times greater air permeability compared to woven or needled belts.
Do you know the term sustainability?
Definitely. Sustainability is our main focus. Why? Because with this belt, you can reduce the temperature and costs, which in turn reduces the environmental impact. This helps with costs and energy savings, which are significant expenses. Reducing these is good for the environment and your budget.
Did you create this doublebacker? It looks really good.
You can see here the steam. the permeability is amazing.
So beautiful.
It goes out really fast. This is something we wanted to show you. We always said that the function of the top belt is to create the cardboard, while the bottom belt’s function is to track the cardboard out of the double visit. This is a point we wanted to highlight because previously, both belts were the same. Now, with this innovation, you can have two different types of belts with significant advantages.
Can you show the process?
This is a very good point for the spider belt because it’s seamless. You just close it, put a cable, and that’s it. You can see how perfectly seamless it is. This is really good for paper and cardboard, especially with a small wave. It’s also great for pre-painting paper.
You just have to put the cable, and that’s it. It’s easy to make and open. If you have a small accident on the belt, like a ten-centimeter cut, you can easily redo the joint.
Nice point. Thank you.
You’re welcome.
