For many, this news came as a surprise and a shock (although we have written about this before). However, this initiative serves a very positive purpose.
Following the strategy initiated at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, the Olympic Committee has implemented several measures to make these games more sustainable. One of the most notable measures is the installation of cardboard beds in the Olympic Village.
Numerous videos from athletes have demonstrated the durability of these beds, which are designed to support weights of up to 200 kilograms, equivalent to 3 or 4 people. These beds are easily transported when folded and are designed to be recycled after the Olympics.
