Interview with Simone Bonaria, Chief Operation Officer of BFT GROUP at FEFCO 2023.
How do you like the show? What can you tell us about this FEFCO?
FEFCO is always a good show, and we have the spotlight as a great opportunity for understanding more about the new products and services that companies offer in our market. And, it is always a pleasure to meet our colleagues in this market.
What exactly did you bring today and what would you like to show? What would you like people to know about your stand here?
In our stand today, we show the Carbon Fiber Doctor Blade. It is an innovative product, able to avoid any kind of corrosion inside the chamber due to the water-based ink. And with our complete system, we have also the opportunity to improve the perfect metering blade between the Doctor Blade and the anilox.
Do you have any goals after the exhibition for your company? What would you like to achieve?
Our goal for this exhibition is to meet more key people in our market and our focus is to meet also OEMs and technical directors to explain our solution to be mounted on their presses.
How did your company perform in 2023? What were your expectations and what did you accomplish?
The expectation for the current year was good, but the market is great. So, this means that our business is growing faster, and we are opening several markets around the world.
Maybe you have something to tell your customers. Something more. Something that you can advertise.
The important thing to advertise to our customers is the attention to saving water and ink and reducing the cost of printing materials. And this is what we can provide with our products.

Yes, of course.

Now we can explain also about our chamber. But we have a goal in a few months to include all the inking system components and notably, the chamber to create the best performance.
What do you mean by that?
We mean that we want to improve the whole system, not just the doctor blade and the chamber, but also the inking and washing system and several washing components to reduce the problems during the color changing and job changing and to get more performance.
Are responsible for the technical part of this? Did you invent it by yourself?
BFT developed completed system ( chamber + inking system) it in several months. We introduced different technologies from other industries. We changed sometimes the technology to get the best performance. During the history of BFT, we have always been innovating and introducing new technologies.
Maybe you can show us some examples because we have different solutions for inking stability?
One of our main products is an integrated valve manifold. It is able to control the flow of the ink and to prevent contamination and even avoid washing the ink because it is one of the most common problems of the printers.
