What interesting products are you bringing to SuperCorrExpo 2024?
One of them is SmartShingle™, which just won the Innovator of the Year award yesterday. SmartShingle™ allows you to run your machines without feed interruptions on some of your orders.
We have a new conveyor system to show you. This is our new ball belt transfer system for bundle breaking. We use this to transfer bundles from the stacker to the bundle breaker. It’s brand new for 2024.
The rest of it is our 2.1m bundle breaker line, which runs all the way through a corner. This is our quick park entry conveyor. It retracts and opens up to allow for converting full stacks into bundles.
Our latest breaker is the Quik-Break™ III. It’s 92 inches wide, 2.1 meters, and capable of breaking a 17-inch bundle at 15 per minute. Next, we have our telescoping exit conveyor, which works in conjunction with our breaker. This conveyor increases the capacity of the bundle breaker from 40 inches (around one meter) to 1.6 meters.
We also have our Quik-Corner™ III, a modular belt using ball matrix belt technology for reliability. These belts last longer and require less maintenance, which is a key goal for our equipment.
Lastly, we have SmartView™ for monitoring die cutters. It includes cameras in the die cutter and on the stacker, continuously monitoring the material flow. If there’s a jam or issue, we can see what’s happening and adjust the machine accordingly. Continuous recording helps us pinpoint and fix problems, preventing future occurrences.
Company history
One of the themes of our booth this year is the history of our company. We’ve been in business for 95 years and have innovated important equipment for the industry. George M. Martin founded the business in 1929, and we moved into the corrugated industry in the 1940s.
In the 1950s and 60s, we made rotary die cutters and corrugated roll stands. In the 1970s, we revolutionized the direct drive cut-off knife, being the first in the world to introduce it. Our stackers were the first in the industry to automate stacking, replacing hand stacking.
This is Merrill Martin, the second generation and son of George Martin. He is responsible for many recent innovations. We want to share our rich history and where we’re going with everyone.
