“What if you could live the life of a corrugated empire owner in just one evening? Buying plants, fighting for equipment, breaking your competitors’ strategies and driving them to bankruptcy… all on a game board.”
Ever wondered what it’s like to compete in the high-stakes, behind-the-scenes world of corrugated board manufacturing?
In Corruga Empire, you don’t just imagine it — you live it.
We’ve been developing and play-testing this game for over a year, and one of its most unique features is the double-action turn. It’s a mix of strategy, negotiation, and a bit of ruthless competition.
The Game Board
Think of a Monopoly-style layout, but instead of streets and railroads, the perimeter is lined with 24 real American boxmakers — corrugated board and box manufacturing companies.
In the center? A massive, buzzing factory floor.
Dozens of machines. Endless movement.
And yes — you’ll spot the equipment of our sponsors right there, working away.
Your Tools for Success
- Company cards — Buy them when you land on an unowned space.
- Factory tokens — Build them on your companies to generate maximum production rent.
- Equipment cards — Corrugators, printers, die cutters, digital printers, robotic palletisers, prefeeders, stackers, glue kitchens, storage and waste systems… everything a real plant needs.
- Special decks — Destiny, Marketing, Equipment, and Bank.
The War for Equipment
Factories are the key to winning. But to build one, you need equipment worth anywhere from $1M to $24M, depending on the company space.
Three sizes of corrugators (16M, 14M, 12M), FFG lines (8M, 6M, 3M), RDCs, HG Flexos, FBDCs, FG lines, digital printers and cutters — over $300 million worth of equipment in total is up for grabs.
Before the first turn, six Equipment cards are placed face-up for bidding. The auction only closes when all six are claimed — but players can add more cards to the pool.
Here’s the twist:
You never buy equipment with your starting capital. The Bank gives loans for equipment only — not for companies.
That’s why your cash stays safe for fines, “get out of jail” fees, earthquake repairs, and fire recovery.
Double-Action Turns
- Move your token and take the action of the space you land on — buy a company, draw a Marketing or Destiny card, or grab free equipment.
- Bid on equipment from the open auction — using Bank loans, not your own money.
You can even outbid other players during the auction phase, blocking their builds and pushing them closer to bankruptcy.
Why It Works
In real life, corrugated board manufacturing is a constant race for capacity, efficiency, and market share.
In Corruga Empire, the same rules apply.
The result? A tense, exciting, and very real-feeling simulation of business warfare in our industry.
Your goal is simple: bankrupt your competitors and dominate the market.
Just like in real life.
