…two of which Mitsubishi will supply by the end of the year, in time for the launch of the company’s new corrugated board plant in Piracicaba (São Paulo). Another big MHI contract in 2023

“Why do you think they chose your company, Mr. Bettini?”
“Klabin bought the MHI machines because they are building a mega plant and they wanted the best machines available on the market to have the best quality with the highest productivity and reliability,” says Giovanni Bettini, Head of Sales, MHI EMEA and South America.
“In Brazil, we already have 12 EVOLs in other companies and the market has proven that this is the best machine.
“The Piracicaba plant will open in late 2023. Two inlines will be delivered by the opening of the facility, and the remaining three – at the beginning of 2024.”

The new Klabin flagship facility will be built on 950,000 sqm and have an annual production capacity of 240,000 tons. After the launch of the plant, Klabin will produce about 1.3bn tons of corrugated products per year.
Mitsubishi will supply three EVOL 100 and two EVOL 115 lines with dual slotters and prefeeders (MPF M and MPF W, respectively).
Klabin invests about $287 million (R$1.6 billion) for the construction of the plant.
