He will take up the position on 1 July 2025, succeeding Ilkka Hämälä, who will assume special responsibilities until his retirement on 23 October 2025.


Jussi Vanhanen has been a member of Metsäliitto Cooperative’s Board of Directors since 2022 and is already familiar with the key aspects of the company.

During Ilkka Hämälä’s time as President and CEO, significant development investments have been carried out, the largest being the construction of the Kemi bioproduct mill.
