The coated board machine will produce 460,000 tpy of white top liner and kraftliner. According to Klabin’s head of paper business, this is the largest machine of this type in the Americas
“The new machine expands Klabin‘s product portfolio for the food packaging and catering (disposable tableware) markets,” says Flavio Deganutti.
“MP28 (máquina de papel #28) is part of the second phase of the Puma II project, which was to expand the company’s packaging paper production capacity by building two paper machines with integrated pulp production at the Puma industrial site (municipality of Ortigueira/PR, southern region of Brazil. – Ed.).”
“The first stage was completed in 2021 with the launch of the main fiber line for the production of unbleached pulp, integrated with the MP27 kraftliner and white kraftliner machine with an annual capacity of 450,000 tons. Its products will be marketed under the Eukaliner® brand, the world’s first kraftliner made entirely from eucalyptus fibers.”
