Tero Kokko has been appointed as President, EMEA at Valmet; Gerd Staadt – as President of Bahmueller Technologies, Inc. (North American subsidiary of Wilhelm Bahmüller Maschinenbau Präzisionswerkzeuge GmbH)
“After a thorough recruitment process consisting of many excellent internal and external candidates, we have chosen Tero Kokko to lead our EMEA area,” says Valmet‘s CEO Pasi Laine.
“Tero has long-term, international management experience, and he has successfully implemented several important change projects in our Fabrics unit. Tero has shown a strong execution capability and he utilizes well his in-depth knowledge of technology and this industry in the continuous improvement and renewal of business.

Tero is moving to the new position from his role as Vice President, Fabrics business Unit, where he has been since 2020. Prior to that, he held various management positions at Cargotec, Kalmar and Metso, and worked as a senior researcher and research engineer at Tampere University of Technology.
Tero Kokko succeeds Vesa Simola, who will continue his career outside Valmet.
Gerd Staadt, who holds a degree in mechanical engineering as well as an MBA, started his career in the machine tool industry in Germany after serving in the armed forces for several years. With numerous years of experience in the precision grinding industry, he moved to the United States in 2009 and was able to build a network across North America in various functions.
Since 2017, Gerd has served customers in the North American market as vice president for the grinding division of Bahmueller Technologies, Inc. With almost 20 years of international experience in the machine tool industry, he is now responsible for further growth of all aspects of the company.
As President of Bahmueller Technologies, Inc. (Charlotte, North Carolina, USA), Gerd Staadt succeeds Michael Strauss, who has held this position for over 10 years and is now transitioning into the role of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.
